Resources
In Depth was created to help you strengthen both your body and your mind — and that journey doesn’t stop when you leave the pool. These are the books that have shaped my mindset, focus, and creativity through every stage of training and life. Some challenge the way we think about success, others help us slow down and reconnect to purpose. My hope is that you find a few that speak to where you are right now — and help you grow into the person and athlete you’re becoming.
Books
Visualize - Maya Raichoora
A practical, heart-centered guide to visualization and manifestation. Maya blends neuroscience with real-world tools to help you design the life you want — one intention, one vision at a time. This book reminds me that mental training is just as powerful as physical training.
Flow: The Psychology of Optimal Experience — Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi
This one’s foundational. Mihaly explores what it means to be “in the zone” — completely absorbed, focused, and present in what you love. It’s changed the way I think about competition, mindfulness, and performance.
The Artist’s Way — Julia Cameron
A creative classic. Julia teaches you how to remove inner blocks and reconnect with your creative flow through simple daily practices like journaling and reflection. Even as an athlete, this book helped me rediscover play and curiosity in my process.
Poems & Prayers — Matthew McConaughey
A collection that feels like a deep breath. McConaughey’s words are both grounding and expansive — part reflection, part prayer, part reminder to stay grateful. It’s one of those reads that keeps you centered before or after long days of training.
The Elimination of Hurry — John Mark Comer
A reminder to slow down in a world that glorifies speed. Comer writes beautifully about creating space for presence and purpose — something I try to carry into my daily routines and recovery days alike.
Wisdom Takes Work — Ryan Holiday
A grounded reflection on discipline, virtue, and the lifelong pursuit of excellence. Ryan reminds us that growth isn’t about shortcuts — it’s about showing up consistently, with humility and patience.
